Welcome to the Administrative Law Section's Website!

Welcome to the Florida Bar Administrative Law Section’s website. I encourage you to explore our website which contains a plethora of resources for administrative law practitioners.

The Administrative Law Section is comprised of over 1,100 attorneys who practice local, state, or federal administrative law. Our members include judges, professors, city attorneys, agency attorneys, and attorneys in private practice. Although we are growing, there are still many attorneys whose practice involves some type of administrative law that are not members of the Section. I would like to personally extend an invitation to these attorneys to join the section. Law students are also welcome to join the Section.

The benefits of membership in the Administrative Law Section include:

  1. Reduced tuition at high quality continuing legal education courses;
  2. Four newsletters a year which include summaries of recent state appellate administrative law cases, DOAH cases, articles of interest to administrative practitioners, and announcements;
  3. Legislative updates;
  4. Invitations to meetings and other events; and
  5. The opportunity to network with colleagues across the state.

If you are a current member of the Section, please be sure to renew your membership. Once you join the Section, we need you to get involved by attending an Executive Council meeting, serving on a committee, or submitting an article for publication in the Section Newsletter or the Florida Bar Journal.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Section. I look forward to serving you as Chair during the 2016-17 term.

Warm Regards,
Jowanna Nicole Oates
